AEFS position available

FULL-TIME EQUIPMENT MECHANIC – TERMINAL SHOP (AEFS)

Cincinnati, OH (CVG)

 

Ensures maintenance and repair work assigned to you is performed in a timely and correct manner, keeps equipment in the highest possible state of repair and appearance.  This position requires a lot of customer service skills in the day to day operation of the shop; must practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures; comply with all ABX operating and safety procedures and policies; follows all safety guidelines and provides for the safety of others; ensures all applicable manufacture repair, overhaul, service, etc. rules and guidelines for equipment are followed; solicit bids for outside contract work and schedules, and performs quality control checks with outside contractors; prepares reports, statistics and/or other documentation; works with EM Supervisor to adhere to budgeted cost parameters; operates all test and service equipment necessary to carry out troubleshooting and testing of equipment; informs Equipment Supervisor of projects, schedules and status of equipment.

 

Must have high school diploma or G.E.D; ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers; valid Driver’s License; verifiable seven (7) years industrial and/or commercial experience in the auto/truck general maintenance industry, or four (4) years working in the ABX Equipment Mtc. Department as an Equipment Maintenance Mechanic; experience to include basic arc and acetylene welding; troubleshooting and repairing gas and diesel engines, automatic/manual transmissions and drive trains, hydraulic systems, battery-operated equipment and related components; changing light and heavy tires and wheels; operate independently; Note:  Required experience levels may have been performed concurrently; one (1) or more years of formal, approved schooling will be considered as one (1) year of the overall experience requirements; ability to demonstrate proficiency in all of the above areas; must have a telephone, hand tools and volt/amp multimeter; ability to stoop, bend, manipulate tools in small spaces; communicate effectively; work in adverse/outdoor weather conditions near aircraft, in all climatic conditions, and in fast-paced environments; wear a respirator/safety protective equipment; perform work at heights; ability to frequently lift and/or move varied objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Prefer CDL Class A license; basic computer – keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products is also a plus.

 

Shift:  Variable

Pay Rate:  $19.00 - $21.50 - $24.00 / Hour + Shift Differential as Applicable
