ACQUISITION
UPDATE
On
Dec. 31, ABX Air announced the completion of the CHI
acquisition and the formation of a new parent
company called ABX Holdings. For both companies the
plan is to continue to operate as before. Look for
information in the coming months on our plans to
grow our revenues and position as a leader in the
air freight industry. Together we can make 2008 a
great year! www.abxair.com/chi
THANKS...
to
all who supported the food and toy drives! ABX Air,
working with DHL and Astar, delivered donated food
to the Clinton County Homeless Shelter, Your
Father's Kitchen, and Clinton County Community
Action before Thanksgiving and again before
Christmas. All three groups were very appreciative
of the food! The donated toys were shared with Head
Start via the Community Action group. They were very
excited to be able to brighten the holidays of local
children in need.
CHECK
YOUR CHECK
Be
sure to double-check your deductions on the first
paystub of the new year. There are new deductions
for benefits including health insurance, short-term
disability, and universal life. Also make sure your
401(k) and payroll tax deductions are correct.
Please report any corrections of your benefit
deductions to the Benefits Department at (937)
366-3085. Report corrections to your tax deductions
to the Payroll Department at (937) 366-2538.
FIRE
BRIGADE TRAINING
Fire
brigade training will be Tuesday, Jan. 8 from 6 to

SHARPEN
YOUR SPEAKING SKILLS
The
Wilmington Expressives Toastmasters Club is hosting
a free meeting on how to be an exceptional presenter
and public speaker, Thursday, Jan. 17 at ABX
University from 6 to 7:30 p.m. For reservations or
directions, contact Ron Keim at (937) 366-2053 or ron.keim@abxair.com.
SAFETY
IS A CORE VALUE AT ABX AIR
We've
had several incidents recently where employees used
a vehicle to push, lift, or slide another piece of
equipment in order to fix it, only causing more
damage and/or injury. If you have problems with
equipment, contact your supervisor; do not take it
upon yourself to repair it or continue to use it
while it is damaged. It does not take much for good
intentions to go astray, so please protect yourself.

HELP US
PUT LITTER IN ITS PLACE
The last Airborne Road clean-up day for the year is
this Friday, Nov. 9. We hope you'll volunteer 30
minutes or an hour of your off time to meet us
between 11 a.m. and noon outside loading door C behind Building 2. A
brief training session will be provided, along with
gloves, vests, and other supplies. To sign up or get
more information, contact Brian Laycock at (937)
366-3119 or Tanya Carey at (937) 366-2923.
STATE
ROUTE 73 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Employees coming to work from State Route 73 have
noticed construction work along that highway and the
east end of Airborne Road. Route 73 will eventually
be extended around the north edge of Wilmington.

Beginning
Thursday, Nov. 8, traffic coming north on State
Route 73 from the Hillsboro and New Vienna areas
will be rerouted onto the new section of SR 73.
Drivers heading to DHL Air Park will need to turn
left on route 22/3, left at Wal-Mart, and past the
Commerce Park buildings to reach Airborne Road. The
route must be reversed for those leaving DHL Air
Park who wish to travel south on SR 73. [click the
map to enlarge]
The east
end of Airborne Road will experience heavy
construction activity throughout the month of
November, and the redirected traffic pattern is
expected to continue throughout the winter.
FOOD
DRIVE
The
2007 Food Drive starts Thursday, Nov. 8, just in
time to help those who otherwise may not have much
of a Thanksgiving meal. Look for more information
next week about where, when, and what you can donate
to feed the needy in our community.
SAVE
MONEY WHILE YOU SAVE LIVES
The
Company Store has a limited number of $5 wristbands
for the Magical Evening of Giving. Buy a wristband
to get exclusive access to the Tri-County Mall on
Sunday, Nov. 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. for special
discounts, door prizes, exclusive sales, and gifts
with purchases! Children under 12 are admitted free.
Proceeds benefit the March of Dimes.
