Jeff Walling accepts the Healthy Ohio Worksite Gold Award from Alvin D. Jackson, M.D., Director Ohio Department of Health, in Columbus Ohio on November 15th, 2007.
For the third year in a row, ABX won recognition from the Healthy Ohio Worksite Award. In 2005 ABX was awarded the Bronze level award for their dedication in promoting a healthier lifestyle to employees at ABX, including the opening of the ABX Healthcare Center in 4th quarter of 2004. In 2006 ABX was awarded the Gold level award for their continued support of the ABX Healthcare Center, as well as the establishment of several Wellness programs.
In 2007, ABX was awarded the Gold level award. They are only the second company ever to win back to back Gold Awards. The award recognizes ABX Air's continuing effort to encourage employees to live a healthier lifestyle. Some of the outstanding achievements that qualified ABX for this award was the continuing service of the on-site ABX Healthcare Center, which now offers Smoking Cessation and Weight Loss classes at minimal or no cost to ABX employees and their families. ABX also has an on-site fitness center with trainers available various hours through the day. In October, ABX offers free women's exams in honor of Breast Cancer awareness month, and $5 flu shots offered around the AirPark in November. The ABX Benefits department strives to keep employees up to date on any programs or health updates through the publishing of A Benefits Xtra, a periodic newsletter handed out with paychecks. These and other efforts by ABX Air qualified the company for the 2007 Gold Award.
