In January 2000, Airborne introduced a performance match for the CAP/401(k) plan. The performance match is in addition to the base match of 35 cents per dollar on the first 6 percent of contributions. The performance match will pay when actual Earnings from Operations, as reported in the Company's Annual Report, is at least 90 percent of the performance target pre-established by the Board of Directors.

In 2000, the Company did not obtain 90 percent of target Earnings from Operations and therefore, no performance match will be made in 2001. Specific details will be provided to all participants with the year-end statements, which will be mailed to employees' homes in early March.
