Are services confidential?
Maintaining the confidentiality of EAP services is a right to which everyone is entitled. All records, including medical information, referrals and evaluations are kept in accordance with federal and state laws.
No information will be disclosed to your employer without your express written consent.
There are rare situations where information may be required by state or federal law to be disclosed to law enforcement authorities. For example, if a caller threatens to endanger themselves or others or if there is evidence of a commission of a crime, state and federal law will require the EAP to notify the authorities of this information.
