Who is Whole Health?

Whole Health is an on-site medical services provider that has been in business for over 23 years, and is headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. We provide numerous on-site medical services to employees of large corporations and federal agencies around the United States. To date, we have over 50 clinics and fitness centers. We have extensive experience in the aviation and transportation industry and will leverage all of our medical expertise to serve ABX Air and its employees.

What can I use the clinic for?

ABX Air employees can use the clinic for both work-related injury care and personal illness care. You will be able to receive advanced medical treatment without leaving the ABX premises. Some examples of diagnoses that Whole Health commonly treat include cuts that require stitches, sprains and strains (shoulder, back, knee, ankle, etc.), allergies, flu, upper respiratory infections, eye infections, headaches, etc. It also will provide occupational services such as drug and alcohol testing, hearing exams, OSHA physicals, and treatment for on-the-job injuries.

When will the clinic be open?

The clinic will be open Monday through Friday, primarily first and third shifts. Saturdays and Sundays it will be open during the day time hours of operation. Depending on utilization, these hours may change to accommodate your needs.

Who will be staffing the clinic?

Staff is currently being hired and will include a Medical Director/Physician, who are board-certified, several nurse practitioners, several registered nurses (RN), two physical therapists, and several administrative support staff members. Our entire medical team will work closely together to provide ABX employees with high quality care.

What is a nurse practitioner, and what services can they provide?

A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse (RN) who has a master’s degree (MSN) and advanced clinical training. Nurse practitioners serve as the regular health care provider during health and illness. In order to provide complete health care, Nurse Practitioners:

Obtain medical histories and perform physical exams

Diagnose and treat acute health problems such as infections and injuries

Diagnose, treat, and monitor chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure

Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies such as lab work and x-rays

Prescribe medications and other treatments

Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals as needed.

Is there a co-pay for using the clinic?

Yes. There will be a co-pay required when using the clinic for personal care, but there will not be a co-pay required for work-related care. The amount is yet to be determined.

Will my personal medical information be shared with ABX?

No. Whole Health complies with all state and federal laws pertaining to patient confidentiality (e.g., HIPAA). The only information Whole Health will share with ABX is information related to a work related injury/illness or personal medical information such as FMLA certifications that you personally allow us to provide through a written release.

Can I fill my prescriptions at the clinic?

If you choose to seek care for work-related injuries at the clinic, and the medical provider deems it necessary to dispense a prescription drug, we will be able to provide most medications at the time of the visit. However, for personal visits, the medical provider will be able to write a prescription for you to be filled at your local pharmacy.

Can I get over-the-counter medications (OTCs) in the clinic?

Yes. After filling out a simple medical questionnaire to determine if you have any allergies, medical condition, or are on other medications that may adversely react with the OTC medication, OTCs will be administered.

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are preferred but not required. However, if you come in the clinic without an appointment and there is a long line or a provider will not be able to see you in a timely manner, we may ask that you make an appointment so you receive the care and attention you deserve and expect. Also, a treatment priority list will be posted in the clinic that will specifically identify who will be seen first (e.g., emergencies always come first, etc.).

When can I go to the clinic for a personal medical visit?

Employees may visit the clinic for personal medical care before or after their shift, during breaks, or during lunch. Of course, if your personal medical condition needs immediate attention, you should come to the clinic as soon as possible.

Can my dependents use the clinic?

At this time, the clinic can only be used by ABX employees. However, the clinic is currently planned to open to accommodate family members after the first of the year.

Can I still see my primary care physician?

Employees will continue to have access to their community physicians under the United HealthCare Program. The physicians at the medical center can work with your primary care physician or specialist. Or if you don’t have a primary care physician, the doctors at the clinic can function as one for you. If you need a specialist, the clinic doctors can help you identify the best specialist for your condition.
