Accidental Death & Dismemberment
ABX Air provides full-time employees with a 100% company paid Accidental Death & Dismemberment policy equal to 1 1/2 times your annual base salary rounded up to the next $1,000. The benefit is insured by The Hartford. The maximum benefit is $350,000 ($225,000 for flight crew members). Coverage is 24 hours a day at home or work and away from home or work.
The Accidental Death & Dismemberment benefit will pay your beneficiary if you should die because of an accident. The plan also provides a benefit if you should have a limb accidentally severed. The schedule of benefits is:

Points to note about AD&D insurance:
AD&D insurance will not be paid for loss caused, contributed to directly or indirectly, by:
Physical or mental illness or treatment for the
illness; or
Any infection, except infection caused by an external
visible wound accidentally sustained; or
Insurrection, war, or any act of war, except while
traveling on ABX Air business; or
Suicide, attempted suicide or intentionally
self-inflected injury; or
Committing or trying to commit a felony or other
serious crime or an assault; or
Travel or flight in an aircraft, including boarding or
alighting there from, while operating, learning to operate or
servicing as a
crew member, except ABX
Air aircraft on company business.
